About

The Daniel Duro Information Technology Center (DD-ITC) foundation was founded in 2022 in the name of our beloved son, who has passed away. Daniel, being the youngest child in the family, has everybody’s attention and affection. The imprint that he left on our hearts and his friends will never, ever fade. Daniel, all through his schooling, has achieved the highest honor at all graduations: diploma, BA, and MSc. To this end, he has received a trophy twice from the university, engraved with the word “Academic Excellency” when he received his BA in 2016 and his MSc in 2021. Further, he has received three medals from Upsilon Pi Epsilon in Computer Science.

He worked meticulously at the job that was offered to him everywhere, including at the university. He also did several voluntary jobs related to IT at the college and university. Actually, he had an accepted agreement letter from Marymount University to begin working as an adjunct professor at the age of 29 in January 2022, unfortunately, the week he passed away. Impressed by his achievement, Marymount University has already established a scholarship in his name (the Daniel Duro Memorial Endowed Scholarship).

Daniel was determined to excel in the field of computer software engineering and worked tirelessly with his coworkers to bring many apps to market (including the now-popular Moxit app). His ambition was for all of his friends to go to higher education. He has encouraged them and advised them to go back for further study. His respectable ambition made us follow his footsteps. We have started this foundation in order to honor him and create a lasting legacy that links the family name with his desire and hard work. We will focus on facilitating and providing information technology and computer training in Burji Woreda/District as well as other regions.
